Objectives

  1. We wanted to return to the primary use of RFID, that is to provide a unique link to documentary, be it on paper or electronic, information about the item, sentient or non-sentient, being perused.
  2. For the information to be capable of verification as to its integrity and any doubt to be indicated and to be capable of being investigated.
  3. To make profitability from copying or theft of the item to be difficult.
  4. To make copying or theft detectable.

Strategy

A full colour display, as found on a laptop of PC screen.

Meeting the requirements of accepted fine art authentication.

Include a JPG of the artwork.

Data accessible through the microchip’s unique 15 digit identification code (ie the chip is manufactured to ISO 11784/5 and ICAR standards).

Additional accessibility to authentication through passwords.

Storage of the data on a USB memory stick with password protection to prevent copying and unauthorised access.

Readability of the data through Microsoft Office

Restricted access to authentication data.

Validation of authentication data.

Warning if a stolen/missing data set is used.
